Felt Like a Hero in a Sports Family Drama

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Have you ever seen a film or TV series/specials where like there's a race or 100 km (uhm?) dash and the heroes/main protagonists of the dramas or even the slightest reliable characters there were making it in the finish like in a slow motion kind of way, ready to reach the goal, and then suddenly they just stumbled on the ground? There were instances that they reach the finish line because they rolled through the finish but there were also times like they just lost and just helplessly lying in a hot or cold concrete ground.

That is what I felt this lonely hot afternoon as we were playing football. When I saw/watched those kinds of scenes, I was like, "Oh my gosh, that was just terrible. It doesn't even make sense. The finish line was right there! So close, yet they managed to slipped it to their fingers like it was not worth it.". I thought that it was kinda overacting and stuff, just to gain affection and attention of the viewers. BUT, I didn't even think for a second that it can totally happen in reality. Yes, that was what happened to me.

Story:

I was the only one alive (meaning, my team mates were all killed, in a playful kind of way, not literally), and I must kicked the ball and complete a 5 back and forth home run. We were all playing for a long time there, like an hour and so, and the bases of our field were all too many distant from each other (thanks to my brother). That's the reason I can barely breath during the first part of our game. I was almost out of breath, inhaling and exhaling very fast.

So, it was time for my home run and I made it through the first run. The second run was where it all happened. I kicked the ball not so far away, so the other team gained the ball quickly and ran towards me, ready to kill me as well. But I'm not born to give up. So, I ran quickly as I could and I could feel my ankles and knees giving up but I still fought the feeling and continuously ran to the finish line, but, when I almost reach our base, I just stumbled and rolled in a f*cking hot concrete ground. I made it on our base, but I just found myself lying still, running out of breath, feeling my scratches aching, but still proud I made it. Thanks for that rolling out scene!

The kids, my team mates and the other team, were all laughing at me and I was also laughing my ass out loud while still lying on the ground. I just know that before, I already felt dizzy and some uneasiness inside me, like I wanna throw up or something, but still, I wanna play some more. I got out of balance. That was the price to pay.

Sadly, I was shot by the ball on my fourth home run, or did they catch the ball when I kicked it? Anyways, I was killed during the fourth home run. It was the other team's turn to play and after a few shots, I went home, first. As I was walking home, that was when my head turns, my eye sights were all getting black and I just want to collapse but I still made it in our house, swaying. I instantly lay down in our sofa and called for my grandma to help me treat my wounds and scratches. Damn, at this point, they are still aching so bad. I got 2 wounds on my right knee, 1 deep wound on my left elbow, 2 scratches on my left shoulder, 1 deep wound on my left waist and some scratches on my hands and feet. It's been so long that I can't even remember when I last had a wound. My body isn't flawless anymore. :( The wounds may heal but the scars will always be there to remind me of my very epic-rolling-on-the-f*cking-hot-concrete-ground. It was awesome, yeah, but it was  frustratingly shameful as well.

SO, to sum it all up. It was a great experience for me. I proved to myself that I'm still a good fast runner and also, that the-not-making-it-in-the-finish-line-scenes I watched in this sports family drama films can all happen in reality. I stand corrected. :)

I Knew You Were Trouble. MV by Taylor Swift

Dear Entertainment Diary,

You don't know what I've been through just to watch this latest and, also, 23rd music video of our beloved pop-country superstar, Taylor Swift! I've been waiting for this like, a long time, ever since I read Tay-tay's tweet about doing a brand new video and I learned that it'll premiere worldwide in MTV and VEVO on her 23rd birthday.

So, I woke up this morning, (Philippine Time), and opening my laptop was the first thing I did. Yep, not brushing my teeth, nor rinsing my face. That's how I love Tay-tay. It's just that I am very friggin' excited to watch her new video but to my dismay, when I looked it up on mtv.com, the video is not available on my region! UGH! Unfortunately, I live in Narnia. Next time, I'll be moving to Lumpy Space in the land of Ooo and test if I can watch the premiering videos.

So, obviously I was struggling hard so I searched everywhere and I saw some on YouTube but I'm not very satisfied with the quality, probably because it was ripped off from their TV's. I saw another, but it's only 3+ minutes long. A 2 minute shorter than the original length of the video. Meaning, the prologue was cut and edited out.

And, you know me, I will not give up and crumble on a cold hard ground unlike what Taylor did. I used VPN to hide my country and surf anonymously and guess what? I watched the whole video on the MTV site! Bwahahahaha! So, who's smart now?

Anyways, enough with my dramatically insane story. I'm going to embed the whole video below and I just hope it's available in your country/region. :) If not, I suggest you use VPN too. :)

About the video:

Ok, so about the video. I LOVED IT. Normally, when I play and sing this song, I never think that it's a very hard and painful experience for the singer. I think it's a fun and quirky song where the singer is dissing her ex but as I watched the video, I felt Taylor's struggles. I felt how she felt the pain and troubles that knocked her out in the cold hard ground. Her latest video is a new transition from Taylor's old videos. She even turned punk in it! The acting was very dramatically executed and emotions were scattering all over the places! Gosh, tay-tay, you really are one of the best-EST!

Here is my post about the song when it was a promotional single: I Knew You Were Trouble.

It's OK Pacquiao!

All we can do now is move on and aim higher.

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Earlier today, we watched the most awaited boxing event of the year, which is "The Pacquiao vs. Marquez 4", the fourth match of the two boxers.

I am not into sports especially boxing but I always watch when it comes to Pacquiao as he is one of our country's pride. I am very excited to watch him win today, but to my horror, he lost to Marquez. He was knocked out seconds before the 6th round ended.

People were all shocked to what they saw, to what we saw. Instead of the usual stuff like shouting and applauding after the fight, many were dismayed. Manny Pacquiao? Knocked out? Well, during the beginning of the match, he already fell down once or twice, I think, but I didn't expect him to be knocked out. Damn, this is the first time that he was knocked out in their four fights.

I don't have to tell more about the event because I know many or probably all of you have watched it but, even though Pacman lost, he still is our Nation's pride. He gained himself 8 boxing world titles/the first 8th division world champion and he's even included in the Guinness World Records.

What I hate after the fight were the tweets and posts all over the internet about Pacquaio and this planking things where people post pictures of them, planking, just like how Pacquaio fell down for a minute or two.  When Pacquiao won, we, Filipinos, didn't do or trend stupid things like #ChilloComoLaEsposaDePaquiao (Squealed Like Pacquiao's Wife), #RetoPacquiao (Pacquiao Challenge) and #SufroComoLaEsposaDePacquiao (Suffer as Pacquiao's Wife). Well, I can't do anything about it.

But the questions still remain. Will this 6th round knock out by Marquez end Pacquiao's boxing career or will be there a #PacMarquez5? Will this be the last fight for our boxing champ? What made him lose? Are boxing, politics, and showbiz not made to be mixed at the same time? What will he choose?

As to whatever the answers are, we can't change the fact that he made his fellow Filipino proud, including me. Way to Go Pacquiao. You prove yourself enough, and we appreciate it. :)

I only saw the trends and their translations of Facebook and twitter, by the way.

"I Miss You", Tears Were Shed

Dear Entertainment Diary,

It's been 5 weeks since the newly hit Koreanovela, "I Miss You", has seen the light of day in Korea and in the internet, and a lot of good feedback has been said, and let's not forget that it is currently rating in Korea every week. Now that it already aired 10 episodes, it has only 10 more episodes to air before it'll end and I'll be one of the saddest fans of this series ever when that thing happens.

Read my first post here: I Miss You.

The series only consists of 20 episodes in total. It already aired half so it means its lifespan will only be 5 weeks long and it'll end in January.

I already published a post about it and I'm very proud to say that it is one of the top viewed posts in my blog of all time. Thanks so much, readers!

A lot of things had happened in the story during its 5 weeks of airing, including good things and shocking scenes, but it was covered/outnumbered by sad parts as this is a melodramatic series.

I've got to praise the child actors/actresses who portray the main characters in the beginning as they were the ones who touched my heart and made me love this series even more. I'm saddened by the fact that this series only rated when the adult characters appeared. WHY? Because it only means that a lot of people only watch this because of the adult actors/actresses who portrayed the main characters. How about the chilid ones that also gave their best and brought us a great impact in the start? And most of all, how about the story? They missed a lot of dramatic scenes including the death of the special characters that didn't appear in the 5th episode. Damn, I've been keeping this heartache for a very long time and I'm so glad that I cleared it out here. LOL

As I said, a lot of great scenes already happened and the story is lighting up in front of every viewers eyes. The story is clearing its way up in our fantasy and we are getting some answers to every questions in our mind.

I'm not into recaps as it will spoil the people who'll read this but what the heck, this is for you to be more intrigued by what's currently happening in this drama: (SPOILER ALERT! If you haven't watched the episodes yet and don't want to be spoiled, please drag your mouse and click the back button or you may read other posts in this beautifully majestic blog).
  • In the 5th episode, the main characters grew up. Yoon Eun-Hye, Park Yoo-Chun, Yoo Seung-Ho, and Jang Mi In Nae appeared and did their best to continue the great acting by their child opposites.
  •  Soo Yeon and Hyung Joon grew up together in France while Jung Woo and Eun Joo live together in Seoul. Soo Yeon became a very famous designer and changed her name to Zoe while Hyung Joon is a very successful young businessman, changed his name to Harry, leaving both their past behind. Hyung Joo became one of the best police/detective in Seoul so he can find Soo-Yeon and clear things up. Eun Joo became a web cartoonist (?).
  • Years later, Harry and Zoe came back to Seoul because of Hye-Mi's death. (The one who took crae of them when they were young or I think she only sticked for the money.)
  • At the moment, Jung Woo is very determine to get Soo Yeon back especially now that he knows that Zoe is really Soo Yeon.
  • The kidnapper who also raped Soo Yeon was released after years in prison. He was bumped by Harry's car and he stole Zoe's phone. On the night of that same day, he called at Harry's house and wanted Zoe to come to him, so he could get more money and planning a very slutty thing to do to her. But, he was killed by an unknown intruder.
  • Zoe was listed as a suspect after she was caught in a black box (CCTV) in the building's garage.
  • The killer used Soo-Yeon's mother's name and Jung Woo's computer to make this case connected to Soo Yeon's incident.
  • Zoe/Soo yeon now knows that Harry and Jung Woo are relatives and she became very angry to Harry to the point that she locked herself up in her room and didn't open it even though Harry keeps on frustratingly banging the door.
  • Soo Yeon and her mom finally met each other in episode 10. She now knows that Zoe and Soo Yeon  are only one person and kept it a secret, even to Jung Woo.
  • Harry is now taking his step closer to the Han family, beginning his revenge for the death of his mother and also, for his magical limping foot
and lastly:
  • The identity of the killer is now known to the public and Jung Woo is now in danger as he was electrocuted by her with a stun gun. (Yes, all through out the episodes, they know that the killer is a girl/woman but I won't say it here.) :)
That's all for it now, I'll continue to watch this drama until the end since I love Yoon Eun-Hye that much and I'm starting to be a fan of Yoo-Choon. I just love his somewhat-chubby-chins! He is such a great actor, and he's also one of the play maker in this series. He's also good at making the viewers laugh!

So far, great actors, great story, great script. I Miss You, all the way to the end! :)

Juuni Senshi Bakuretsu Eto Ranger (Anime)

Remembering how awesome my Childhood was.

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Yesterday, I became very sad and emotional when I saw a copy of the song Aitakute by Kiyome Kobayashi, the theme song of one of my favorite and legitimately the best animes of all time, one of the reasons why my childhood was so awesome, Juuni Senshi Bakuretsu Eto Ranger or simply, Eto Rangers

I was so thrilled yesterday that I sang it for not less than ten times. I remember how I used to sing that song during my childhood days, back to the time when I still memorized the lyrics. It's simply one of the best theme songs from animes in the history of my ear drums and I wish I can find the tape where my aunt recorded my voice singing that song. Damn, where to find it?

Anyways, after singing that song yesterday for so many times, I decided to re-watch the episodes of Eto Rangers and while I was watching it, I just wanted to cry my tears out. I remember how I used to watch it with my brother, how I used to re-enact each episodes with my toys, how I used to sing the theme song every time the credits rolled, and how I used to go home after playing outside just so I can watch it every night on ABC 5. Now, it's TV 5. It was originally aired April 7, 1995 - January 26 1996 but I think it aired here in the Philippines on 1998.

Summary (from wiki):
The Eto Rangers ride in Space-Time Transmitting Machine Kirinda to repair the Novel Worlds of Mugen. The Eto Rangers are anthropomorphic animals, each representing one of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals (and The Twelve Branches in Buddhism). In Japan they are known as the Eto animals. The Novel Worlds are stories created by the human imagination, such as old folk tales as well as newer books. These living worlds play out repeatedly, and are necessary for the good of humanity. Princess Aura rules Mugen, which is an island continent hanging over an ocean from the skybound Novel Pole. The Great God Goal gives her power, but she may never leave the small palace island area. Their nemesis is the forgotten Spirit of Cats, Nyanma(real name, Chocolat), who was excluded from the choice of 12 protectors by being disqualified from the race (in actual legend there are many versions of this story). She seeks her revenge by distorting Novel Worlds with Jarei Monsters.
When a Jarei Monster goes to a Novel World they alter the story, turning it into a different version, sometimes a parody of itself. Bakumaru, the Spirit of Mice, must use the Genmakyou mirror to reveal ("Jarei Shouran!") the evil spirit once enough clues lead to its identity. Often the Eto Rangers must play out some of the story to find out who or what it is, sometimes even taking on the role of one of the characters in the tale. After defeating the creature, Kirinda is called when Bakumaru holds up his hand with one of Aura's 12 gems on it and calls out "Daikourin Kirinda!" Kirinda descends from a dimensional slit and purifies the evil spirit with a beam weapon, calling out "Jouka!" (Purification).
Most of the episodes involve up to 5 Eto Rangers, chosen by the computer's roulette member selection, going into Novel Worlds to repair them, but there is another story going on as well. The Jarei Monsters are commanded by Jarei O Nyanma, the Queen of Evil-Spirited Monsters, sitting in her throne in the giant shell fortress in the seafloor ravine. Throughout the series she is watching the progress of the Eto Rangers that foil her plans. She has a grudge toward Aura for a perceived slight years ago. She sends out 4 cat warriors created from herself as well. It is not until later in the series that the overall story, and the past, begins to be revealed in more detail.
So as I said, I watched the first few episodes yesterday and I stopped at episode 4 because the one uploaded on youtube is very LQ and the sound is kinda groggy and irritating.

This is an anime with themes of adventure/comedy/drama/scifi and others; all of those in one anime. Now tell me, how awesome was that? The plot and the story are also good too especially the things about fairy tales being altered by demons. Another great thing I like about this anime is how they used the 12 animals of zodiac as the main characters. Using fairy tales is a good idea to capture the children's eyes and even the young's at heart. I watched this anime when I was still 7 or 8 and now, I'm currently 20 and still enjoy this stuff. I'm an anime lover and this anime is very dear for me. Very close to my heart for it is the very few animes that I enjoyed when I was still young. The others are Sailormoon, Akazukin Chaha, Flint, and many more.

This anime isn't all about adventure. It's about love, friendship, and helping each other as well. The theme songs are also good especially the ending theme Aitakute which is a big help in reminding me about this anime.

I hope I can find a good quality copy of this anime. Last year, I actually downloaded the whole anime series but it's in Japanese audio and doesn't have english subs so for me, it's useless. Well, it's much better if TV 5 would re-air it. I would definitely enjoy watching it!

ATM (2012 Horror/Thriller Film)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

At last, there's another post I'm gonna published that's about a movie. It's been weeks since the last time I watched a film I downloaded or streamed on my laptop and this film, ATM, got my attention, so, to vanquish my boredom, I watched it.

I learned about this film probably last July and primarily watched it because of Josh Peck (Drake and Josh). It was released last April 6, 2012 but poorly did in the box office and received negative reviews from critics and the public as well.

Plot:
After leaving their company Christmas Party together, David Hargrove and Emily Brandt's impromptu first date takes an unexpected turn when their coworker, Corey, asks them to make a late-night stop at an ATM. What should be a routine transaction turns into a desperate struggle for survival when an unknown man appears outside the vestibule. With the wintry temperatures dipping below freezing, and the morning sunrise still hours away, they have no choice but to play the man's deadly game of cat-and-mouse. -- (C) IFC
As I said earlier, I watched this film mainly to erase boredom but as we (yes, my aunt and brother were with me) were watching this, we only got more bored than before. My aunt and brother actually left and didn't even bother to finish the film so I was the only one who patiently watched the whole movie.

Well, the first 20 minutes are kinda boring. I did 2 yawns to prove that. But the film gave me excitement when the 3 reached the ATM booth and the first murder occurred but to my dismay, all through out the film, it's just so boring and not that thrilling at all.

As I see it, this film is like a cat and mice chase where the mice stayed in the hole to be protected from the cat but little did they know that the cat lured them to go and trap them inside. The killer actually planned everything all along, studied the whole place including all the CCTV cams and their ranges.

For me, this film lacks thrills, horrifying scenes, and even gory stuff so they can't blame us viewers if we got hell bored. The script isn't that good either, Sorry. :/

What more can I say? Uhm... The only thing that scare me is that I kind of agree to the fact that the events in this film can actually happen in real life. I was imagining like I was one of the main characters in the story, I mean, like What? Will I be alive? Will I make it through until the end? Ha! I hope so. Well, I hope it won't happen to me.

What I actually hate the most is that I didn't see the real perpetrator's face! I also hate that he got away with his crimes and blame the poor innocent helpless man just like how he planned it from the first place. I just hate how factual that policemen were being manipulated by a man with a  very intelligent mind! And I wonder, does this film proves that not all things being caught by CCTV cams are all true? I mean, what if cases like this one keep on happening? Can we trust everything we see in the CCTV cam? CCTV's still have blind spot and like weaknesses such as its range, right?

Well, I guess that's all I need to say for now. Oh! And I like to have a parka coat too. I find it cool to wear even though it's not snowing or that cold here in our country. :D

You can watch the whole film here:

Warrior (Ke$ha Album) Deluxe Edition

Glitters! Glitter-Much!
Dear Entertainment Diary,

So, everyone of us has an inner warrior inside? Well, that's according to our pop rap diva, Ke$ha, as she shows us what she wants to say about love and life in her latest album, Warrior, due release November 30, 2012 / December 10, 2012 (accdg. to some sites). BUT, the said album has surfaced online yesterday and you know me, if there's a hole, I must look at it, listen, try, and enjoy if I think it's worth enjoying. Deluxe. HAHA

I'm not a die hard animal (Ke$ha's army/fans) so I needfully say that this is the first time I ever downloaded her album. Am not also a huge fan of such musics with raps so this is very hard for me to embrace but I got to say that the songs feature in this album are kind of enjoyable and very booty shake-able.

As I said, this is the first time that I listened to a Ke$ha album so I didn't know what to expect. Will I enjoy it? Hate it? Will it break my eardrums? Cover my ears? HA! But I really enjoyed listening to the songs on it. Despite very heavy auto-tunes and hard technical edits, the beats and the songs' rhythms discarded it all and we won't even care but to dance and move our head from left to right and back and forth and spin and turn it all around like a girl being exorcised.

The things that I noticed off the album were:
1.) Most of the songs have rap on it. I mustn't be surprised, it's Ke$ha's. Remember Tik Tok?
2.) Only few are ballads and that's the most exciting part. This is the first time that I heard a slow song from Ke$ha and I really love track no. 8, Wonderland. And I've got to praise her for it. I honestly think she doesn't need the auto-tune stuff and slow songs kind of suit her voice as well. Raw talent is what I mean!
3.) When I listened to the first songs, I honestly thought I was listening to Katy Perry. Damn, their voice are kind of similar. I don't know on what points but I really felt this is Katy's album.
4.) Despite the rap verses, all choruses in the songs are really enjoyable to hear and some of it even touched my insides. Metaphorically.
5.) Ke$ha really loves upbeat tempo songs and auto-tunes, uhm, DUH?.
Overall, I love the album, really, I do, but disappointingly, I didn't feel the album's meaning while listening to her songs. I didn't find the "There's an inner warrior inside every one of us." Yeah, most of the songs are about love and life and some stuff about it especially Die Young and All That Matters (The Beautiful Life) but I really didn't get where the warrior inside thingy took place off her album. :)

But, despite on what I've said, this album got the potentials of being the top of charts and the songs even got all the factors of being played and aired in the radio for a long time and also in the clubs.

I love almost all of the songs especially Wonderland, my most fave song off the album. The first tracks including Warrior, Die Young, C'mon, Thinking of You, Crazy Kids, and the very repetitive Wherever You Are, are on repeat as I type this post in so I might be distracted and commit some errors. LOL

Goodluck to the very controversial cult leader, Ke$ha, on your latest album and on topping the charts with your songs, album, and especially talent. Only Wanna Dance With You is kinda fun to listen and sway my hips on to, as well. Ke$ha, Keep on slaying! HAHA!

Partners Cancelled (Are you F*cking Kidding Me?)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

I am very down right now and want someone to talk to and let my feelings of sadness out. Where have I been? Why didn't I heard it last week? Ugh. I'm dressing all black for the wake of my favorite TV show, Partners.

Earlier, probably about 10 minutes ago, I was about to download the seventh episode of the show but on my  horror, I can't see any piece of the 7th episode all over the internet and this actually troubled me so I hurriedly researched why and found the f*ck out about it being cancelled. Why? Oh, CBS, why did you cancel that great show? I like it so much that I even download every single episodes the same week they were aired. It was even nominated on next year's People's Choice as a new TV Comedy and I voted for it for 10 times.
